In this guide you will learn how to view and edit the details of a device in Leanheat® Monitor.
Go to the Devices tab, select a device from the list and open the Details tab in the device menu. If you do not see the tab, your user role does not include access to device details.
The tab is split into three sections: Device information, Owner contact information and Device location.
Device information
The device name and its icon are shown on the left. On a Modbus device you can press Change Icon and pick a different one.
- Description - the text that identifies the device in the device list.
- Device tags - free labels that can be shared by several devices and are used to build device filters. Type a value and press Enter to create a new tag.
- Virtual application - shown on OPR and Modbus devices, it sets which application diagram the device uses.
- Application example - shown on ECL controllers whose application has more than one example.
- Controller ID - your own identifier for the controller.
- Serial number - can be entered on Modbus and OPR devices. On other device types it is read from the controller and cannot be edited.
- Notes - free text kept with the device. The field is only shown to roles that are allowed to manage notes.
Owner contact information
Contact details for whoever owns or is responsible for the installation: Name, Secondary name, Telephone number and E-mail address.
Device location
The location places the device on the map widget and on the map view of the Devices tab. You can set it in three ways:
- Press Click to search for address and search for the address. The address fields and the pin are filled in from the result.
- Type the address by hand in Street, Street number, Extra, City, Postcode, Region and Country.
- Press Manually set pin position to place the pin yourself. Drag the pin on the map or type the Latitude and Longitude, then press Update pin.
The device information panel
Everything above is where you enter information. To read it back, open the Devices tab, select a device, and use the panel to the right of the flow diagram. Its first tab, marked with the information icon, shows the device at a glance without opening the Details tab.
The panel is read-only and is grouped into:
- Customer - the name, address, telephone number and e-mail address you entered under Owner contact information. The telephone number and e-mail address are links, so you can call or write straight from the panel.
- Device information - the description, the controller model, the device tags and the device image, followed by Serial no., Device Version, Hardware Version, Software Version, Production Week and Controller Id. On an ECL device the panel also offers Open live display, which shows the controller display as it looks on the unit itself.
- Application information - the application, its subapplications and the version.
- Network information - Connection type, Device IP and MAC address. On a device behind a Modbus gateway you also see the Gateway name, Modbus gateway type, Modbus slave address and Serial port.
A row is only shown when the device reports a value for it, so a panel with fewer rows is not a fault.
Saving your changes
Press Save at the bottom of the page. The button stays inactive until you change something, and if you leave the tab with unsaved changes you are asked to confirm first.
