In this guide you will learn how to use Bulk Operation in Leanheat® Monitor.
Bulk operation lets you change the same setting on many devices at once, instead of opening every device in turn. There is no limit on how many devices one operation can cover.
Bulk operation is available to Admin, Full, Designer and Limited users. If your role does not include it, the "Bulk Operation" button is not shown.
Starting a bulk operation
You can start a bulk operation from two places:
In the "Devices" tab, click "Bulk Operation" below the device list.
In the "Areas" tab, select an area first and click "Bulk Operation" in the panel on the left. The operation then only offers the devices of that area.
Bulk operation opens as its own screen with three steps. You can move between the steps at any time, and you can leave without applying anything by clicking "Back to devices" (or "Back to" the area you started from) at the bottom of the screen.
Step 1: Choose setting and change value
Select the setting you want to change from the "Register" list, for example "DHW Comfort Temperature", "HC Mode" or "HC Schedule". The list contains the settings that are available on the devices you can access.
Once a setting is selected, enter the new value below the list. What you see here depends on the setting: a single value for a temperature, a mode to pick, a full weekly schedule, a heat curve, or the flow and power limits.
Settings that can be changed in bulk
Bulk operation covers the settings listed below. Which of them appear in the "Register" list depends on the devices you can access, because a setting is only offered when at least one of your devices actually has it.
Heating circuit
"HC Mode"
"HC Des. T comfort"
"HC Des. T saving"
"HC Schedule"
"Heatcurve"
"Flow/Power Limit"
"Zone control Des. Room T comfort" and "Zone control Des. Room T saving", on applications that have zone control.
Domestic hot water
"DHW Mode"
"DHW Comfort Temperature"
"DHW Saving Temperature"
"DHW Schedule"
"DHW Circulation schedule"
"DHW Antibacteria"
Meters and system
"EM1 scan time" to "EM5 scan time"
"SCADA timeout"
Any other setting has to be changed on each device individually, in the settings of that device.
Step 2: Select devices
The left list, headed "Available for" the setting you picked, shows only the devices that setting can actually be applied to. A device you expect to see may be missing because the setting does not exist on it.
Tick the devices you want to change and move them to "Selected devices" on the right with the arrow buttons between the two lists. Each list has its own search field and a "Select all devices" option, and your device filters are available above the lists to narrow things down first.
Step 3: Apply changes
The last step is an overview: "Selected devices" on the left, and the new setting on the right, so you can check both before anything is written. Click "Apply changes" to start the operation.
Leanheat® Monitor then confirms that the settings are being applied and that this may take several minutes. The devices are written to in the background, so you do not have to stay on the screen.
Following your operations
The menu on the left of the bulk operation screen has three entries:
"New operation": starts the wizard again.
"Processing operations": the operations that are still being written to the devices. The number in brackets is how many are running.
"Failed operations": the operations that did not complete on all devices.
When an operation fails
A failed operation is listed as the setting name followed by the number of devices it failed on. Open it to see which devices failed and why. Two reasons are common:
"Communication timeout": the device could not be reached. Check the device connection and try again.
"General bulk error": try again later, and contact support if it keeps happening.
Each failed operation has two buttons. "Retry" runs it again on the devices that failed, so you do not have to build the whole operation a second time. "Cancel" drops it from the list.
