In this guide you will learn how to connect an ECL 120/220 in Leanheat® Monitor.
An ECL 120/220 is set up on site with the ECL GO app over Bluetooth. In the app you switch the Leanheat Monitor feature on, and the app then shows you a serial number and a four digit installation code. You register the controller in Leanheat Monitor with those two values.
Before you start
The ECL 120/220 is connected to the internet with an Ethernet cable to your internet gateway.
You have the ECL GO app on a mobile device and you are standing next to the controller, because the first steps go over Bluetooth.
Step 1: Connect the controller to the internet and to ECL GO
The ECL Comfort 120/220 must be connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable to your internet gateway. Enable the Bluetooth connection by pressing the button in the upper left corner of the controller for 3 seconds, then start the ECL GO application on your mobile device. Start scanning and connect to your controller.
Step 2: Activate Leanheat Monitor in the controller
In ECL GO open "More", then "Settings", then "System", then "LHM", and turn "Enabled" on.
The same screen now shows the two values you need to register the controller: "Serial Number" and "Installation Code". Note them down. "Status" stays on "Connecting" until you have finished step 3.
Step 3: Register the controller in Leanheat Monitor
In Leanheat Monitor navigate to the "Admin" tab, open "Device Administration" and click "Connect" which is in the upper left corner, then select "Connect ECL" from the list.
Set "Device type" to "ECL-120/220", put the serial number from step 2 into "Serial number" and the installation code from step 2 into "Code", then click "Connect".
The serial number of an ECL 120/220 is exactly 13 characters long and uses capital letters and digits only. Leanheat Monitor refuses lowercase letters and any other length.
Step 4: Monitor and control the installation
The controller appears in Leanheat Monitor straight away. It then picks up its credentials on its own and comes online shortly afterwards. In ECL GO you can see this on the "LHM" screen: "Status" changes to "Connected" and the app confirms that the ECL has been registered.
You are now ready to control and monitor the heating installation remotely. Settings of the ECL Comfort 120/220 can be changed, temperatures and operation can be monitored, and you can be alerted by email.
If the controller stays offline
The most common reason is a typing mistake in the serial number or the installation code. Leanheat Monitor stores what you enter without checking it against the controller first, so the device is created in the list but the controller never receives permission to connect. Remove the device and add it again with the correct values. The installation code in the controller has not been used in this case, so it still works.
A controller that was already connected once needs a new installation code, because an installation code can only be used a single time. To get one, connect to the controller in ECL GO, open "More", then "Settings", then "System", then "LHM", and click "Remove Registration". The screen then shows a new "Installation Code", which you use to register the controller again as described in step 3.
