In this guide you will learn how to enroll your ECL Comfort 310 controllers in Smart Weather Compensation (SWC) in Leanheat® Monitor using the SWC Device Manager, and how to pause, resume or remove them afterwards. For an explanation of what SWC does, see Introduction to Smart Weather Compensation.
Before you start
SWC must be enabled for your account. It is a separately purchased add-on.
You need administrator rights. The two SWC reports are visible to every role, but only administrators see the SWC Device Manager.
The devices you want to enroll must meet the SWC requirements. If a device does not appear under Available, check the list in Why SWC enrollment fails, and how to fix it.
The five device lists
The SWC Device Manager groups your devices into five lists, shown on the left:
Available: devices that are eligible for enrollment. This is where you start.
Active: devices currently running with SWC. You can pause them or delete them from SWC.
Failed: devices whose enrollment did not complete. You can retry the enrollment or cancel them.
Paused: devices temporarily taken out of SWC. You can resume them or delete them from SWC.
Processing: devices currently being enrolled. No actions are available while a device is here.
The same device can appear in more than one list. A device that failed an enrollment attempt, for example, is shown under Failed and remains under Available. The lists refresh by themselves roughly every 15 seconds, so you can watch an enrollment progress without reloading the page.
Enrolling devices
Navigate to "SWC" in the main navigation and select "SWC Device Manager".
Select "Available" on the left. The counter next to it shows how many devices are eligible.
Find the devices you want under "Available devices". You can narrow the list with the filter buttons above it, or type in the "Search" field. To take everything at once, use "Select all devices".
Tick the devices and move them to "Selected devices" with the arrow button between the two panels. The same arrow in the opposite direction moves them back.
Click "Next" to reach the "Location" step and check the location of every selected device. SWC needs a complete address and valid coordinates inside Europe, so correct anything that looks wrong before continuing.
Click "Next" again to reach the "Summary" step, review your selection and confirm.
The devices move to "Processing". Adding them can take several minutes, and you can follow the progress in the SWC Device Manager.
What happens after you enroll
Enrollment is not instant, because several things have to happen before the first offset is applied:
Each controller receives a localized weather forecast, which can take up to 24 hours.
The Danfoss AI engine compares your controller settings, including location and heating parameters, against the large database of buildings across the Danfoss Leanheat® solutions to find the optimal SWC settings. This can also take up to 24 hours.
Once the closest match is found, SWC starts applying its offset, and the first results are reported after up to another 24 hours.
In total, expect up to 72 hours from enrollment to the first results. Until then the reports show that SWC is activated and running successfully, and that the first report may take up to several days to be calculated.
Pausing, resuming and removing devices
Select a device in the list and use the action for its current state:
"Pause SWC" temporarily stops the offset for an active device. The device moves to Paused and its data is kept.
"Resume SWC" puts a paused device back into operation.
"Delete from SWC" removes the device from the service entirely.
"Retry SWC enrollment" tries a failed device again, once you have fixed the cause.
"Cancel devices" takes a failed device out of the queue.
Deleting is not a light action. Removing a device from Smart Weather Compensation permanently deletes all of its historical SWC data, and enrolling it again takes up to 72 hours. To take a device out of SWC for a while, use "Pause SWC" instead.
If a device behaves in a way you did not expect, we recommend pausing SWC and contacting Danfoss rather than deleting the device, so that we can investigate and improve the service.
