In this guide you will learn how to create your own Leanheat® Monitor account with an ECL controller you already own.
Signing up this way is meant for private end users looking after their own heating installation. It is not the route for professional use. If you install or service heating systems for other people, or you need Leanheat® Monitor for a company, contact your local Danfoss sales representative instead of signing up here.
The same applies if your installation is already managed in Leanheat® Monitor, by your own company or by a partner. Do not sign up here. Ask the administrator of that workspace to invite you instead. See User management.
If you have a Danfoss ECL controller, you can set yourself up in Leanheat® Monitor on your own, without ordering anything first. You create a Danfoss Profile, which is the login used across Danfoss applications, and then connect your controller. The controller proves that the account is yours, and it becomes the first device in your new workspace. The workspace starts on the Free plan.
Before you start
- You need a supported controller: an ECL Comfort 296/310 or an ECL Comfort 120/220. These are the only device types you can open an account with.
- The controller is connected to the internet and is reachable by Leanheat® Monitor.
- You have its serial number and its code to hand. On an ECL 296/310 this is the access code, shown on the controller under "System" - "Portal config" - "Portal info". On an ECL 120/220 it is the four digit installation code, shown in the ECL GO app. Both are described step by step in Connect ECL 296/310 and Connect ECL 120/220.
- The controller is not already registered in Leanheat® Monitor. A controller belongs to one workspace at a time.
Step 1: Open Leanheat® Monitor
Go to app.lhm.danfoss.com in your browser and click "Sign In".
Step 2: Create a Danfoss Profile
The screen that opens belongs to Danfoss Profile, the account you use for all Danfoss applications. If you already have one, log in with it and continue with step 3. If you do not, click "Sign up" above the form.
Fill in your email address, choose a password and type it a second time, then enter your first and last name. Tick the two boxes to accept the Danfoss Profile terms of use and to confirm that you have read the privacy policy, then click "Submit".
Once your Danfoss Profile is ready, go back to app.lhm.danfoss.com and log in with it.
Step 3: Name your workspace
The profile you have just logged in with does not belong to any workspace yet, so Leanheat® Monitor opens the "User registration" wizard instead of the normal view. The first step is "Tenant details".
Your email address is shown and cannot be changed, it is the one from your Danfoss Profile. "Tenant name" is the name of your workspace. It is filled in for you as your own name followed by the word Workspace, and you can replace it with anything that suits you better, for example your company or the name of the building. Choose your "Country", then click "Next".
Step 4: Connect your ECL
The second step, "Connect", is where you prove that the account is yours. Set "Device type" to "ECL-296/310" or "ECL-120/220" to match your controller, enter its serial number in "Serial number" and its code in "Code", then click "Connect".
Leanheat® Monitor now checks the controller, which takes a moment. When it confirms that the device has been verified, click "Continue". Your new workspace opens with the controller already in it, and from here on you work in Leanheat® Monitor as normal. The same three fields come back later under "Admin", which is where you connect further devices to a workspace that already exists.
What the Free plan includes
A workspace created this way runs on the Free plan, which includes:
- ECL-296/310 and ECL-120/220 controllers.
- Readings and graphs, covering one year of history.
- The interactive flow diagram.
- Alarms.
The features built for larger portfolios are not part of the Free plan: reports, dashboards, areas, bulk device management, data relays, ECL Live view, commissioning reports, shared time schedules and the station performance overview. If you need any of those, ask your Danfoss contact about the Professional plan.
A few features are not included in either plan by default and are ordered separately as Additional Services, among them the API, custom flow diagrams and Smart Weather Compensation. An Additional Service can only be added to a tenant on the Professional plan, so ask your Danfoss contact about those as well.
If sign up does not work
"Invalid serial or access code" means Leanheat® Monitor could not match what you typed against a controller it knows. Check both values character by character, and check that the controller is really online. On an ECL 296/310 the "Portal status" line has to read "ONLINE". The serial number of an ECL 120/220 is exactly 13 characters long and uses capital letters and digits only.
A message saying that the device already exists means the controller is registered in another workspace. A controller can only belong to one workspace, so it has to be removed from the old one before you can use it here. On an ECL 120/220 there is one more thing to know: an installation code can be used only once, so a controller that has been connected before needs a fresh code. Connect to it in ECL GO, open "More", then "Settings", then "System", then "LHM", and click "Remove Registration".
If you already have a Leanheat® Monitor account and landed in this wizard by mistake, use the "Already have an account? Sign in instead." link at the bottom of the form. It signs you out so that you can log in with the right profile.
